CAMPING IN THE VENDÉE

The Vendée coast stretches for more than 140 kilometres alongside the Atlantic Ocean, from Noirmoutier to l’Aiguillon sur Mer via Saint Jean de Monts and Les Sables d’Olonne. From fine sandy beaches to charming seaside resorts, you’ll love your camping holiday in the Vendée. Put on your swimsuit to top up your tan while you take some time out, have fun on the sand or indulge in water sports: paddleboarding, kitesurfing, canoeing, sailing… On the Vendée coastline, you will also find many surfing spots. Strongly marked by the Vendée War of 1793, the department still preserves testimonies, calvaries and monuments recalling the period. Art lover? Head to the museums of the Vendée for a cultural outing to discover the exhibitions on offer. Discover the museum dedicated to the painter-cum-traveller Charles Milclendeau in Soullans, the Museum of Popular Traditions and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MASC) in Sables d’Olonne, the birthplace of Georges Clemenceau in Mouilleron Saint Germain or the miniature village Vendée Miniature in Brétignolles sur Mer. Inland you will also find unspoilt countryside where you can go hiking, biking and horse riding through the Marais Poitevin marshlands, the mountain forests of Mervent-Vouvant, or the Yon valley.
